Fatal crash - Vittoria, near Bathurst, NSW

Inquiries continue into a fatal crash which occurred west of Bathurst today.

About 12.45pm today, a Holden Commodore was travelling east on the Mitchell Highway, Vittoria, when it collided with another Holden Commodore which was travelling in the opposite direction, NSW Police say.

A 56-year-old woman who was the front seat passenger of the westbound vehicle died at the scene.

The 56-year-old male driver was taken to Orange Base Hospital for treatment to minor injuries received and for a mandatory blood and urine test.

The 21-year-old male driver of the eastbound Commodore was taken to Orange Base Hospital with a fractured cheek and for a blood and urine test. His 16-year-old female passenger was also taken to Orange Base Hospital, with minor injuries.

The Mitchell Highway was closed while members of the Crash Investigation Unit investigated the incident.

Inquiries are continuing. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
