Fatal House Fire Strikes Hawthorne, Emergency Crews Respond

A 66-year-old man has died following a house fire at Hawthorne on Saturday, August 19.

Emergency services were initially called to the Forbes Street property around 8:15pm following reports of a house on fire.

Upon arrival, a 66-year-old man, believed to be a resident, was located with serious injuries and was transported to hospital.

He passed away from his injuries on Sunday night.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

Police continue to appeal to anyone with information or relevant vision to come forward.
