Goulburn Mulwaree Council proudly welcomed 22 new Australian citizens at a Citizenship Ceremony held on Thursday, 22 October 2026.
Mayor Nina Dillon was joined by Cr Bob Kirk to present Citizenship Certificates and officially welcome the new citizens as members of the Australian community.
The ceremony celebrated residents from a diverse range of countries who have chosen to make Goulburn Mulwaree their home, including the Philippines, the Netherlands, Brazil, India, Nepal, England, Myanmar, Britain, Fiji, Thailand and China.
Mayor Dillon said Citizenship Ceremonies are an important opportunity to celebrate both Australia's diversity and the strong communities that make the region a great place to live.
"Becoming an Australian citizen is a significant milestone and one that reflects a commitment to our shared values, rights and responsibilities," Mayor Dillon said.
"We are delighted to welcome these new citizens and thank them for choosing to make Goulburn Mulwaree their home. Their experiences, cultures and contributions help strengthen and enrich our community."
Citizenship ceremonies are among the most meaningful civic events conducted by Council, providing an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the newest members of the Australian community.
Goulburn Mulwaree Council congratulates all 22 new citizens and extends a warm welcome to our community.
