Fatal Truck Crash: Police Respond to Waeel Incident

Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Unit are seeking information regarding a fatal crash that occurred in Waeel, between Meckering and Cunderdin, this morning Thursday 11 May 2023.

About 1.10am, an Isuzu truck towing a trailer was travelling along the Great Eastern Highway when near Mount Anne Road, the truck left the carriageway and stuck a tree and water pipe causing the truck to catch fire.

The driver and sole occupant of the truck, a 64-year-old man, sustained critical injuries in the crash and died at the scene.

Major Crash investigators are urging anyone who saw the crash, or the Isuzu truck and trailer travelling in the area prior to the crash, or who has any information relating to this crash, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
