Festivale showcases Tasmania's premium produce, beverages

Jo Palmer, Minister for Primary Industries and Water

Festivale is one of Tasmania's premier food, wine and entertainment events and it is returning to Launceston's City Park from February 3 to 5.

The first full-scale event since 2020, Festivale is expected to attract about 28,000 patrons, drawing in locals and visitors alike to celebrate what Tasmania has to offer the world.

Minister for Primary Industry and Water, Jo Palmer, said it was so exciting to have such an iconic event return to Launceston.

"There is so much on offer for festival-goers this year, including the chance to watch celebrity chef Gary Mehigan alongside some of Launceston's best chefs in action, creating incredible dishes with Tasmanian produce," Minister Palmer said.

This year's event will also feature more than 60 stallholders serving up delicious Tasmanian produce and beverages, live comedy on Friday and a beverage masterclass program.

"Not only can you see the line-up of wonderful local producers on the Festivale website, you can also map out your day with the interactive list of stallholders and preview menus," Minister Palmer said.

"This is another wonderful way Festivale is showcasing Tasmania's producers and their products to the world."

The live music program features some of Australia's best acts, including The Living End, The Superjesus, Sheppard, Sneaky Sound System, The Waifs, Thirsty Merc.

The Rockliff Liberal Government has invested $810,000 over three years through Events Tasmania to support the delivery of Festivale until 2024.

Minister Palmer thanked the Festivale Committee for its hard work and dedication to deliver this wonderful three-day event.
