Final call for comments: 2022-23 fees and charges and approach to cost recovery

Providers, accredited course owners and members of the public still have an opportunity to comment on ASQA's proposed approach to cost recovery, including new fees and charges.

Feedback for this round of consultation will close on Wednesday, 9 February 2022.

In the feedback received to date, themes and points of interest on ASQA's cost recovery methodology and model relate to:

  • how ASQA's risk-based regulatory actions and activities are linked to the proposed fees and charges
  • the practical impacts on providers and accredited course owners
  • the different regulatory fees and charges including:
    • how the sector-wide regulatory charge, called the Annual Registration Charge (ARC), is calculated, with comments about courses/qualifications on scope, and the difference between enrolments and students
    • comments about provider-specific regulatory fees and charges including: initial registration, and renewal of registration; performance monitoring/assessment and compliance monitoring fees; reconsideration/reassessment and evidence review fees and charges; explanation of the performance assessment (audit) selection process; and the skills and knowledge of quality assessors (auditors)
    • the connection of provider self-assurance to proposed fees and charges.
