Firearm and weapons found in Williston, South Australia

A man will face court today after a firearm and weapons were found in his car this morning.

About 2.30am, Wednesday 2 June, patrols attempted to stop a Holden sedan on Murray Street Gawler. The driver failed to stop, patrols did not pursue the car.

A short time later the car was located parked on a verge on Main North Road, Williston, the learner driver was still in the car. Patrols searched the car and located a Winchester sawn-off shotgun with the serial number ground off, four large knives, knuckle dusters and stolen number plates.

The driver a 30-year-old man from Angle Vale was arrested charged a number of traffic and firearms offences and unlawful possession.

He has been refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
