Flinders is ensuring its graduates are ready to seize cutting edge jobs in the defence and cyber security industries with the endorsement of a suite of courses by the Naval Shipbuilding College.
With the digital shipyard at Osborne the epicentre of $90 billion worth of Australian naval construction for at least the next three decades, Flinders is working to ensure South Australia's best and brightest are first out of the gates to secure work on these exciting projects with durable and rewarding naval shipbuilding careers in Adelaide.
Throughout the endorsement process- Flinders demonstrated the alignment of its programs with the job performance needs of the naval shipbuilding industry, through significant industry consultation and ongoing research with ASC Shipbuilding and BAE Systems Australia for the future Hunter Frigate Program workforce.
Pro Vice Chancellor, Learning and Teaching Innovation, Professor Deborah West said as the first higher education institution in the nation – to have a suite of courses deemed "defence ready" Flinders is pleased to be at the forefront in supporting students to seize career defining opportunities, while also strengthening Australia's sovereign capability.
