FLOODING NO LONGER OCCURRING AT ADELAIDE RIVER TOWN

ELEVATED RIVER LEVELS CONTINUING ALONG THE LOWER ADELAIDE RIVER

Moderate to heavy rainfall associated with Ex-Tropical Cyclone Narelle was observed across the Adelaide River catchment over the weekend. Further showers and thunderstorms are possible over the next few days but are not expected to contribute significantly to riverine flows.

The Adelaide River at Adelaide River Town recorded a major flood peak early Monday morning, and fell below the minor flood level late Monday afternoon.

A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End including the Upper Adelaide River catchment.

Upper Adelaide River:

Flooding is easing along the Upper Adelaide River.

The Adelaide River at Adelaide River Town is currently at 4.24 m and falling, below the minor flood level. The Adelaide River at Adelaide River Town is likely to remain below the minor flood level (11.50 m).

Adelaide River and Margaret River:

River level rises and elevated river levels are occurring along the Margaret River and the Adelaide River below Adelaide River Town.
