Forrestdale Fire

Arson Squad detectives are investigating a fire at an auto wreckers located in Forrestdale this morning, 24 February 2021.

Around 4am, Police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services were called to a fire at the business located on McCook Street.

The fire destroyed approximately 50 cars being used for scrap metal. It is believed a person entered the premises and ignited the fire as they were attempting to steal property.

The damage bill is estimated at approximately $5,000.

Arson Squad detectives would like to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the fire that has CCTV, mobile phone or dash-cam vision, or who saw any suspicious activity.
