Four new citizens for East Gippsland

East Gippsland has four new Australian citizens following a citizenship ceremony on Tuesday, July 16.

Pictured with East Gippsland Shire Council Mayor Cr Natalie O'Connell are Donna Smith of the United Kingdom, Aron James Perez and Rachel Silby of the Philippines, Mariam Herz of Egypt, and Member for Gippsland East Tim Bull.

A citizenship ceremony is the final step to satisfying the requirements for citizenship. Council live streamed the occasion so family and friends who couldn't be at the ceremony could share in the special day. Council generally holds four citizenship ceremonies each year.

The live stream is available on council's YouTube channel 'EastGippyTV'.
