Over 2000 native plants will be available for Darwin residents when City of Darwin's popular native plant giveaway visits Anula Oval on Saturday 10 May 2025.
Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said City of Darwin remains committed to creating a cool, clean and green city.
"Greening our municipality continues to be a priority, and this financial year we will deliver over 15,000 free plants to residents through our native plant giveaways," Mr Vatskalis said.
"Native plants help stabilise soil, reduce erosion and create essential habitat for local fauna, including birds, frogs and lizards.
"By choosing native species, residents can reduce maintenance, cut down on chemical use and contribute to climate resilience.
"We remain committed to enhancing Darwin's natural environment and promoting sustainable urban living," he said.
The plants available have been carefully chosen to suit Darwin's unique tropical climate, with a range of native trees, shrubs, and grasses on offer.
The giveaway will run from 8am to 11am and is open to Darwin residents only.
Each household may collect up to six plants, and proof of residency is required.
