Free Salisbury Fringe Carnival set to attract thousands

The popular annual Salisbury Fringe Carnival will return to the Salisbury Civic Plaza/Inparrinthi Kumangka on Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25.

The free community event will feature free amusement rides and activities, musicians and performers. Highlights will include:

  • Sizzler ride
  • Ferris wheel
  • Spinning teacups
  • Balloon artists
  • Face painters
  • Kids' silent disco
  • Donut eating competition
  • Circus workshop
  • Kids' performances and roving entertainers

There will also be a range of food vendors including Beyond India, Miss Dagwood Dogs, Maxine's Potatoes, Humpty Dumplings, S Deli, Snow Cones, Boost Juice (Saturday only), Fair Floss Galore, Balfours and VW Bars.

The 'Blue Brick Road' will return for its second year with new and exciting stallholders getting involved. Attendees visit all six stalls to receive a letter to spell out a secret word which will allow them to enter into the running to win one of five exclusive showbags drawn hourly.

Mayor Gillian Aldridge OAM said thousands of people from Salisbury and surrounding areas flocked to the Salisbury Fringe Carnival every year.

"Council is thrilled to offer this opportunity to celebrate Fringe time for free, with a huge array of activities for all members of the family," she said.

"We are proud to be attracting more people to our Salisbury City Centre, which has been rejuvenated as a vibrant, enjoyable and safe place for people to visit."
