The full program for the Fremantle International Street Arts Festival (FISAF) has been unveiled, confirming four days of world‑class street theatre, circus, music and spectacle set to transform Fremantle into an open‑air stage from Friday 3 to Monday 6 April 2026.
Now in its 26th year, FISAF will once again animate Fremantle's streets, parks and waterfront with a free, family‑friendly program featuring local, national and international artists, inviting audiences to wander, discover and encounter performance in unexpected places.
Running from midday through to after‑dark shows from Friday to Monday, the festival program spans circus, acrobatics, physical theatre, live music, comedy and roving works, with performances unfolding across multiple pitches and pop‑up locations throughout the city.
Artists from Australia, the UK, France, China, Japan, Spain, the USA and Chile will feature across the program, which includes major Australian premieres alongside returning favourites, reflecting Fremantle's long‑standing reputation as a home for bold, accessible and boundary‑pushing street performance.
Key program highlights include internationally acclaimed acrobatic ensembles, contemporary circus and comedy, water‑based acts that transform Fremantle's harbour into a live performance stage, live music performances and family‑focused shows, ensuring something for all ages across the Easter long weekend. Audiences are encouraged to explore the full program online and plan their festival experience in advance.
Reflecting on the program release, FISAF Creative Producer Brendan Coleman said the 2026 program continues the festival's commitment to celebrating creativity in public space.
"Fremantle has always been a place where artists and audiences connect in surprising ways. This year's program brings together an incredible mix of local talent and international performers, creating moments of joy, curiosity and shared experience across the city," Coleman said.
"At its heart, FISAF is about making art and performance accessible. It invites people to stumble across something extraordinary while moving through the streets, and experiencing Fremantle in a completely new way."
The festival will activate locations across Fremantle, including the Cappuccino Strip, Esplanade Park, Fishing Boat Harbour, Fremantle Prison and surrounding streets and laneways, reinforcing the city itself as a central part of the festival experience.
Alongside the performances, Fremantle's renowned hospitality offering will once again play a starring role, with cafes, bars and restaurants spilling into the streets and welcoming festival‑goers throughout the long weekend
The Fremantle International Street Arts Festival is a free event, presented by the City of Fremantle, and proudly supported by the WA Government through Tourism WA's Metro Events Program.
