More than 470,000 Western Australians have claimed their $100 Fuel Support Payment since the scheme opened less than a week ago, the equivalent of almost $46 million in cost-of-living support for WA households.
As part of the Cook Labor Government's commitment to supporting Western Australians with the cost-of-living, every WA driver's licence holder can now claim $100 to help with the cost of fuel.
The one-off payment is available to all WA driver's licence holders, including learner, provisional and extraordinary licences.
Western Australians can also choose to donate their payment to support people doing it tough, with 15 participating charities across three categories: food and emergency relief, children's charities and community support.
Since opening at 9am on Wednesday, 1 July, more than 2,200 Western Australians have opted to donate their payment resulting in over $220,000 to charity.
The strongest participation rate has been recorded amongst novice drivers, with 26 per cent having submitted a claim.
The initiative is not only delivering direct cost-of-living support but is also encouraging Western Australians to access a broader range of government services digitally through ServiceWA.
If submitted through the ServiceWA app, Western Australians will receive their payment within 5-7 business days.
Customer satisfaction remains exceptionally strong, with the ServiceWA Fuel Support Payment experience currently recording 96 per cent positive feedback.
Registrations for the Cook Labor Government's new Foster and Grand Carer Gold Card also opened on 1 July, with over 1,200 registrations already received.
Already, more than 1,200 family and foster carers and grandcarers have claimed their Gold Card and are now able to access their first benefit, an energy bill credit of $377.
Since 1 July, the credit is already set to deliver more than $450,000 of real cost-of-living support to families caring for the State's most vulnerable children.
Families will also soon be able to access the third round of the WA Student Assistance Payment when applications open on 20 July, with $150 available for kindergarten and primary school students and $250 for high school students.
The fastest and most convenient way to claim any of the Cook Labor Government's cost-of-living support measures, including the Fuel Support Payment, is through the ServiceWA app which is supported by a 24/7 hotline.
Alternative manual claim options are available for the Fuel Support Payment, however it will take up to eight weeks to process, with forms able to be collected from about 200 locations State-wide.
Paper claim forms are available online, at regional Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure Service Centres, ServiceWA kiosks, and participating local Members of Parliament offices. They will also be available at participating public libraries across Western Australia from mid-July and can be submitted by mail with the required supporting documents.
