Geelong Nature Forum 2021

The theme of the 2021 event is 'Where The Rivers Run', with a focus on the animal and plant life of the Geelong region's rivers, creeks and wetlands.

The Geelong Nature Forum 2021 is an exciting, multi-dimensional event, showcasing Geelong's natural wonders through a week-long series of nature-based activities, presentations and displays.

The main event will be held on Sunday 26 September 2021 (register via Eventbrite), featuring:

  • local expert and volunteer talks about the amazing diversity of life we have in our rivers and wetland ecosystems
  • workshops on a range of topics relating to nature and citizen science and
  • manned displays by local community environment groups.

Many other nature activities and events will also be running between 25 September and 3 October including:

  • an exhibition at the National Wool Museum showcasing the wildlife that lives along our waterways, environment group displays, the Alphabet Birds art installation and a photograph series celebrating local nature volunteers
  • field-based activities to encourage people to explore natural places in their local communities, and
  • nature-based school holiday activities.

The Geelong Nature Forum is a joint initiative, led by the Geelong Field Naturalists Club and the City of Greater Geelong, sponsored by the Department of Environment Land Water and Planning and Barwon Water, and made possible thanks to the dedication of our wonderful community environment groups.
