A teenager will appear in court for firearm offences after he posted a picture of a firearm on social media yesterday.
On Sunday 19 February police received a report regarding the dissemination of a social media post with a picture of a firearm and threatening words.
Following an investigation, on Monday 20 February, Northern District Detectives spoke to the alleged author of the social media post. His home was searched and police located and seized a gel blaster (the firearm shown in the image).
A 14-year-old boy from Elizabeth Downs was reported for creating a false belief and possessing a firearm without a licence. He will be summonsed to appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court at a later date.
