George Institute to conduct 'Australian Eye and Ear Health Survey' with partners

The George Institute, in partnership with the Centre for Vision Research at The Westmead Institute for Medical Research (WIMR), University of New South Wales, Brien Holden Foundation and Macquarie University, has been awarded a tender to undertake the 'Australian Eye and Ear Health Survey'. This survey will examine close to 5,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Aboriginal Australians over a period of two years. This is a follow up to the 2016 National Eye Health Survey - the first nationwide assessment of vision impairment and blindness across Australia. An 'Ear Health' component has been added to the new survey.

The George Institute team, led by Gian Luca Di Tanna, has helped with the design and sampling of the survey, and will oversee and support all its statistical aspects.
