  • Part of Cook Labor Government's efforts to provide quality jobs, business opportunities for Western Australians

Dozens of local businesses have shared in $3.15 million worth of grant funding as part of the Local Capability Fund's (LCF) latest round, supporting them to pursue new opportunities and create quality jobs for Western Australians.

Grants of up to $50,000 were available to successful applicants encompassing the following four categories:

  • Regional Suppliers;
  • Supplying Key Projects;
  • Standards Compliance; and
  • Aboriginal Business.

The LCF helps to improve the capability, capacity and competitiveness of local small and medium-sized enterprises which supply products, goods and services to the State Government.

Funding across the four categories will primarily support new plants and equipment, fit outs and site upgrades, safety and compliance improvements and workforce training. Many local businesses will also use the funding to incorporate renewable energy and energy efficiency activities to support decarbonisation.

Since launching 15 years ago, the LCF has supported more than 870 local businesses and distributed more than $30 million in funding.
