Greenacre search warrant leads to seizure of firearms, drugs and prohibited weapons

A woman and a teen have been charged with numerous offences after police conducted a search warrant in Sydney's south-west.

Following a public place shooting in January this year, officers from Burwood Police Area Command formed Strike Force Secant, to investigate the alleged supply of prohibited drugs across south-west Sydney.

About 6.00am this morning (Thursday 6 April 2023), Strike Force detectives executed a search warrant at a house and granny flat on Pelman Avenue Greenacre.

Among the items seized by police was a BB gun, a homemade taser, a flick knife, nearly $20,000 cash, a small quantity of white powder which police will allege in court to be methylamphetamine and cocaine and a small amount of cannabis.

A 17-year-old boy and a 48-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station.

The 17-year-old boy was charged with eight of offences including possess prohibited drug (two counts), possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, supply prohibited drug (three counts), knowingly deal with proceeds of crime and breach of bail.

He was refused bail and will appear before a Children's Court tomorrow (Saturday 7 April 2023).

A 48-year-old woman was charged with possess unauthorised prohibited firearm and possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.

She was granted strict conditional bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court on Thursday 20 April 2023.
