With the forecast of heavy rainfall from tomorrow, Council has closed the Greenpatch camping ground in Gordonvale.
The Greenpatch campground, which is on the Mulgrave River floodplain and prone to flash flooding, is expected to remain closed for the remainder of the wet season.
While Greenpatch will be closed to camping, the reserve remains open for passive recreational use, such as picnics, cycling and scooter riding and exercise.
Toilet facilities will be open for day use, although the showers will be closed in line with the closure of the area for camping.
