Miami residents and businesses can nominate to help shape their suburb as the area continues to grow into a sought-after destination for recreation and the arts.

Mayor Tom Tate is calling on members for a Community Reference Group to ensure community voices from every corner of the local area are heard.

"Our investment in Miami is an investment into the community's future," Mayor Tate said.

"The Community Reference Group will provide an essential platform for the community to share their ideas, concerns and aspirations for the precinct's future.

"It will ensure everyone has a seat at the table as we shape Miami's exciting next chapter."

The Community Reference Group will be made up of eligible residents, businesses and local stakeholders who will act as conduits between the City and the community.

It will allow ongoing and transparent communication between the City and the community and will discuss local issues and opportunities, community projects and infrastructure improvements to name a few.

The Miami Precinct renewal includes the significant enhancements of Pizzey Park's recreational facilities, green spaces, sporting fields and athletic infrastructure.

Key projects of the Pizzey Park Masterplan which was developed in 2021 are helping to reshape the parklands into the Gold Coast's premier sports, recreation and lifestyle destination.

The City's investment into the area also extends to the Miami Arts Depot which will transform the current city depot into a globally renowned creative industries hub, providing new opportunities for artists to turn Miami into an international creative destination.

"The Miami Precinct represents a once-in-a-generation City investment, bringing together world-class creative industries, upgraded recreational infrastructure and essential community services to shape a vibrant future for the area," Mayor Tate added.

"We aim to transform Pizzey Park into a world-class destination for sport, recreation and lifestyle in the lead-up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games."
