As the weather cools, warm up with Brazilian Samba this weekend as Orange celebrates International Harmony Day.
On Saturday, March 20, the south court, between the Orange City Library and the Orange Regional Museum will be a sea of colour as special guest, dancer Fattisha Kamara, showcases her high-energy, Afro Brazilian and Afro Caribbean Candombe performance.
Orange Mayor Reg Kidd encouraged everyone to attend and wear bright colours.
"Fittingly, the theme colour of Harmony Day is orange, but come along in whatever bright colours you have and be a part of this inclusive celebration," Cr Kidd said.
"The Orange community is a diverse community and Harmony Day is about celebrating that diversity, while bringing cultures together with a festive event.
"Our annual celebration attracts hundreds of people and is always a really fun afternoon for the whole family."
The celebration begins at 4pm and is expected to finish at about 8pm. Entry is free and craft activities for children will be on offer, as well as a range of performances from local cultural dance groups.
A variety of multicultural food is available for purchase, such as Indonesian, Moroccan tea, Indigenous, and much more.
Limited outdoor seating is provided and guests are encouraged to bring their own fold up chair, or picnic rug to sit on.
Guests must sign in using the QR code provided, and must remain seated with the same small group throughout the celebration, with the exception of purchasing food or drinks.
