Health Promotion Research Boosts Health Outcomes

The Cook Government is calling on Western Australian researchers, health practitioners, and postgraduate students to apply for Healthway funding to deliver better health outcomes for the people who need it most.

With a total funding pool of $830,000, these grants help strengthen WA's health promotion workforce and turn evidence into action. Funding opportunities include:

  • Health Promotion Research Fellowship: supports early career and senior researchers to undertake high-impact projects over three years. These fellowships are designed to boost the number of highly skilled health promotion researchers working in WA. They aim to support leaders who can generate actionable evidence to shape policy and practice;
  • Health Promotion Research Scholarships: supports postgraduate students completing master's or PhDs in fields that drive the future of health promotion in WA. They aim to help create the next wave of leaders equipped to respond to WA's evolving health needs; and
  • Aboriginal Health Research Scholarships: dedicated to supporting Aboriginal practitioners and students to complete postgraduate studies that will enable them to lead health improvements in their own communities using culturally grounded, locally led methods. They aim to strengthen and grow a highly skilled Aboriginal health research workforce.
