Hells Angels OMCG member charged after three firearms and poker machine seized

Raptor Squad investigators have charged a Hells Angels outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) member after seizing three firearms, a poker machine and prohibited drugs on the state's Central Coast.

As part of ongoing targeting and disruption of the illicit activities of criminal networks, officers from the State Crime Command's Raptor Squad executed a search warrant and conducted a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO) search at a home at Doyalson North from 7.15am yesterday (Wednesday 8 December 2021).

During the search, officers seized three firearms – including a double barrel sawn off shot gun and two rifles – as well as a large quantity of ammunition.

Police also seized OMCG paraphernalia, a mace, an amount of methylamphetamine (ice), cannabis seeds and an electronic storage device.

All items will undergo further forensic examination.

A 51-year-old man was arrested and take to Wyong Police Station, where he was charged with 14 offences;

  • Possess prohibited drug,
  • possess shortened firearm without authority,
  • acquire prohibited firearm – subject to prohibition order,
  • not keep firearm safely – prohibited firearm,
  • not keep firearm safely – not pistol (x2),
  • possess or use prohibited weapon without permit,
  • be in unauthorised possession of approved gaming machine,
  • possess unregistered firearm – not pistol (x2),
  • acquire firearm – subject to prohibition order (x2),
  • possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, and,
  • acquire ammunition subject to prohibition order.

The man, who is a Hells Angels OMCG member, was refused bail and is due to appear at Wyong Local Court today (Thursday 9 December 2021).

Investigations by Raptor Squad are continuing.
