High-Visibility Police Operation Precedes Bathurst 1000

Media are invited to attend the launch of the high-visibility policing operation running at the 60th race meeting being held this weekend at Bathurst's iconic Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit.

Operation Bathurst 2023 commences tomorrow (Thursday 5 October 2023), and will continue until Sunday (8 October 2023), to ensure the safety and security of competitors, officials and thousands of spectators attending the Repco Bathurst 1000.

General Duties police attached to Chifley Police District and across Western Region, will be assisted by specialist officers from the Operations Support Group (OSG), Dog Unit, PolAir, Licensing Police, Bicycle Unit, Youth Command (PCYC), Public Order and Riot Squad (PORS), Police Transport Command and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command throughout the operation.
