Historic child sexual abuse charges, WA

Cold Case Serious Crime Squad Detectives have charged a 61-year-old man over historic child sex offences.

The man, who was a WA Police Force officer until he resigned in July 2017 and previously held a senior position with a model enthusiasts’ club, has been charged with the following, WA Police say:

•Eight counts of Indecent Dealings of a Child Under 13 years

•Two counts of Attempted Sexual Penetration of a Child Under 13 years

•Persistent Sexual Relationship with a Child Under 13 years

•Two counts of procure, incites or encourages a child 16 years or above who is under his care, authority or supervision to engage in sexual activity.

•Three Counts of Indecent dealing of a child of or over 16 years while in his care.

The alleged offences occurred between 2008 and 2011 when one of the victims was aged between 11 and 14-years-old.

The man was arrested on Thursday 20 September 2018 and charged with the offences described above. He appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court today and was remanded in custody. He is due to reappear in the Perth Magistrate’s Court 28 September, 2018.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives urge anyone with any information regarding this matter to call Crime Stoppers.
