Attorney General John Quigley is pleased to announce the appointment of Angus Hockton as a Magistrate of the Magistrates Court of Western Australia.
Mr Hockton was admitted to practice in Western Australia in 1995 and has extensive litigation experience across jurisdictions in WA and the United Kingdom.
He has worked for private law firms and at Legal Aid WA until he started his own practice in 2006.
In WA, Mr Hockton has appeared in criminal matters in the Magistrates Court including the Drug Court, Start Court, Intellectual Disability Diversion Program Court and Domestic Violence Court.
He also appeared in the general lists of the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts and the Court of Appeal.
Mr Hockton will fill a vacancy left by the appointment of former Magistrate Christian Miocevich as a Judge of the District Court.
