Organisers of the WA Tourism Conference tonight announced that the 11th iteration of the event will be held in Carnarvon on May 25 to 27, 2026.
Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall said the conference partners were looking forward to bringing the 2026 WA Tourism Conference to the Shire of Carnarvon.
"The 2026 WA Tourism Conference is expected to attract more than 200 delegates from across Western Australia and make a significant economic impact on the local destination," he said.
"We're looking forward to showcasing Carnarvon to tourism businesses and industry delegates from across Western Australia, who will then promote the destination to potential visitors," he said.
The announcement was made at the 2025 Perth Airport WA Tourism Conference Dinner, held tonight at the Fremantle Sailing Club in the City of Fremantle.
Shire President Eddie Smith said the announcement was a proud moment for the Carnarvon community.
"We are absolutely thrilled to be selected as the host town for the 2026 WA Tourism Conference," Cr Smith said.
"Carnarvon is a place of stories from ancient landscapes and rich Aboriginal culture to our world-class produce and iconic attractions. Hosting this event will allow us to share our region's unique character with industry leaders from across the state and showcase why Carnarvon deserves to be on every visitor's itinerary.
"This is not just a win for tourism, it's a win for our whole community. We look forward to welcoming delegates and showing them the warmth and potential of our region."
The WA Tourism Conference was introduced in 2015 as an industry-wide event and is now co-hosted by a number of industry associations including Tourism Council WA, Visitor Centres WA, Caravan & Camping WA, Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Council (WAITOC) and the Forum Advocating Cultural and Eco Tourism (FACET).
