How TSU will begin new academic year

All Tomsk universities, including Tomsk State University, will start the new academic year in the full-time format. To minimize the risks of the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the educational process for students will begin in stages. On September 1, first-year students will begin full-time classes, and the remainder of the students should join them within a month.

This decision was made by the Tomsk consortium of scientific and educational organizations. Now universities are developing the logistics of the educational process in new conditions. TSU will notify its students in advance about the schedule for the start of the academic year, which is currently being developed.

- By next week, the university will develop a schedule of arrival at the dormitories. Those who must go through quarantine will be placed in observation facilities. The educational process for them will be organized remotely, - said Viktor Dyomin, TSU First Vice-Rector, Deputy Chairman of the Tomsk Consortium.

International students are allowed to enter only from countries with which the Russian Federation has opened borders; all who come will have to go through quarantine. International students will begin the academic year in a distance format or according to an individual study plan.

The organization of the educational process is built following the recommendations of the chief sanitary doctor of the Russian Federation. In particular, at TSU at least twice a day, students and teachers will have their temperature measured. Air disinfection and filtration will be established in classrooms.

All students attending lectures must wear masks. TSU is responsible for the purchase of masks.

We remind you that TSU has a hotline for students: +7 (3822) 785 188.
