Howlong came together to embrace the holiday spirit on Saturday, December 16th, with the captivating Twilight Maker Market and delightful Christmas concert by MC Rodney Vincent transforming Lowe Square into a magical holiday haven.
The festivities came alive with enchanting Christmas carols sung by the Howlong Primary School choir, captivating performances by Empower Dance Academy, a heartwarming nativity scene presented by Children of Generation Life Church, and delightful entertainment from the lively Whistle and Trick kids' band. Adding to the magic, a circus roving performer added a touch of wonder.
The evening reached its pinnacle with a stellar ensemble of performers, including the musical talents of Rodney Vincent, Lachlan Mcintyre, Belinda Mead, Antonia Maher, Colleen Bell and Taylah Jenkins. Accompanying them was the melodious touch of Paul Gibbs on the piano, creating a truly unforgettable experience.
Kids were singing and dancing the night away and excitedly dashed across the football oval when Santa Clause made his grand entrance in a fire truck.
The festive vibes were truly magical as the community gathered to revel in the twilight maker markets and Christmas concert. From 3pm, attendees explored a wonderful array of market stalls seeking holiday gifts while indulging in treats from a variety of food trucks, including favourites like Redhead and Chef, Redgum Wood Fired Pizzas, and Slinky Spuds.
Howlong Twilight Christmas Festival was possible with the generous support of the Howlong Progress Association and the Howlong Spiders Football and Netball Club. The event was funded by the NSW State Government's Reconnecting Regional NSW - Community Events Program and is part of five events taking place this Summer across the North of the Murray region.
Federation Council Mayor, Cr Pat Bourke said Saturday evening at Lowe Square was nothing short of magical.
"The perfect weather conditions greeted us on Saturday as we came together in Lowe Square to celebrate the many wonderful things about Howlong and Christmas," Mayor Bourke said.
"The local performances were a highlight for me, as well as catching up with many residents who all said they thoroughly enjoyed the festival and holiday atmosphere. On behalf of Council I would like to thank the Howlong Progress Association, Howlong Spiders Football and Netball Club, Council staff, The Bravery and supporting organisations who worked tirelessly to ensure this event was a success and enjoyed by our community.
