Everything is in readiness for the massive New Year's Eve party which will kick off at 6.30pm in Sturt Park.

This year's event will feature a water park thanks to the support of Essential Water, along with the usual array of family entertainment.

The water park will include the Lil' Kahuna Slide, Atomic Drop Slip and Slide, Hurricane Superslide and Candy Crush Slide, and will be complemented by a range of carnival rides including The Cyclone, Surf's Up, Dodgem Cars, and the Jungle Adventure Jumping Castle.

A free wristband is required for all waterslides and amusement rides, and can be collected from the Event Information Tent. (Height and age restrictions may apply to some activities)

There will be live music throughout the night with performances by DJ Calen, country music star Paul Costa, and emerging Mildura band Birddog, and a selection of 10 different vendors will be on hand selling food and drink.

Mayor Tom Kennedy said he was proud that the city would be boasting such a big party to ring in the New Year.

"I want to thank Council staff for their efforts in putting all this together, it's going to be a huge night and something kids and families will love," he said.

"I also want to acknowledge Essential Water for their support, I think the water park is going to be a very popular addition to the event.

"I look forward to seeing everyone there on the night, and hope everyone has a great time."

There will be a big fireworks show from the Line Of Lode at 9.15pm, with live music to continue until the conclusion of the party at 10.30pm.

Motorists are advised that there will be no access to the Line Of Lode in the lead up to the fireworks, and pet owners are reminded to keep pets inside for the duration of the show.

This is an alcohol-free event.
