Hydroponic Setup Located, Cannabis Seized - Chifley

Police have seized over 120 cannabis plants and 30kg of dried cannabis, with an estimated street value of $200,000, after a hydroponic setup was found at a house in the state's Chifley Police District.

In June 2026, officers attached to the Western Region Enforcement Squad commenced an investigation into suspected cannabis cultivation in the Lithgow area.

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a property in Lemnos Street, Littleton, near Lithgow, about 9.30am yesterday (Thursday 16 July 2026).

During the search, police located and seized a total of 124 cannabis plants,100 harvested plants and approximately 30kg of dried cannabis leaf inside six rooms throughout the house.

A significant amount of equipment used in the cultivation of cannabis was also seized from the house.

The estimated street value of the cannabis seized is more than $200,000.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Western Region Operations Inspector Carl Middelton said that the public remain a valuable source of intelligence when it comes to identifying drug premises.

"If members of the community find strange odours emanating from a property, diverted electricity, unusual chemical containers and waste, blacked out windows, hoses and pipes in strange places, blinds down, with extremely bright indoor lighting radiating through gaps and vehicles arriving at odd hours, there's a good chance they have a drug house in their neighbourhood," Inspector Middleton said.

Anyone with information about this incident or other suspicious properties is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is managed on a confidential basis. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
