The Territory's favourite all-ages music festival returns to Darwin tomorrow, with thousands of interstate and local event goers set to descend upon Mindil Beach for BASSINTHEGRASS on Saturday, 21 May.

After selling out several weeks ago, this year's BASSINTHEGRASS returns bigger than ever with a record-breaking 16,000 tickets sold. Gates open at 11.30am tomorrow, with 12 hours of non-stop entertainment across two stages from some of the biggest names in Aussie music, as well as the BASSINTHEGRASS Territory Artists Competition winners.

There will be even more activations at the 2022 event, including the BASS Beauty Bar, Sunset Disco Beach Club, Glitter & Glow Illumination Station, Silent Disco, Live Street Art Site and more.

Following a hugely successful 2021 BASSINTHEGRASS, DanceWize will again be on site to offer free advice to festival goers. The evidence-based, peer alcohol and other drugs harm-reduction group will ensure music fans have the best experience possible.

BASSINTHEGRASS ticket holders are reminded their ticket includes free travel on the Urban Bus Network, with free bus services from the City, Casuarina, Palmerston and the Rural Area.

Music fans should allow extra time when travelling to Mindil Beach, to take into account additional road closures.

Event goers are reminded there are no pass-outs at BASSINTHEGRASS, so vote in the Federal Election before you arrive. This year's BASS is a sold-out event, and people are advised not to purchase tickets from unauthorised resellers.
