International Extradition

WA Police Force detectives, with the assistance of the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department, were granted approval to extradite a man from the United Kingdom to face a WA court in relation to child sexual offences.

In 2011, police commenced an investigation into allegations the man indecently assaulted three siblings who were aged five, nine and 10 at the time of the first offence. The alleged offences occurred between 1984 and 1987.

In the late 1980s the man left Western Australia and moved to the eastern states before moving overseas. The man was located in the United Kingdom during the police investigation.

The 60-year-old man from London has been charged with:-

• Nine counts of Indecent Treatment of a Child under 14.

The man and detectives arrived back in Perth on Saturday 15 May 2021, and he is due to appear via video link to the Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday 16 May 2021.
