A Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will commit $3.2 million to construct a new fire station for the Scoresby CFA.
After years of neglect under the Andrews Labor Government, the Scoresby CFA has deteriorated, despite the important work it does across the Scoresby and Knox area, as well as wider Victoria.
Scoresby CFA's is the second busiest station in the state, and its 50 volunteers respond to more than 600 emergency calls per year, as well as supporting other brigades responding to larger incidents, ranging from car accidents to bushfires.
The upgrade will mean Scoresby CFA can continue the hard work they do and house Victoria's only stand-alone hose-layer truck, which is able to lay long stretches of hose in a short period of time, freeing up other trucks and resources.
Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Brad Battin, said the work Scoresby CFA does is vital for the local community and deserves to be acknowledged.
"It's simply not good enough the Scoresby CFA volunteers have been forgotten under the Andrews Labor Government."
"Only the Liberals and Nationals are committed to rebuilding our CFA and will always give them the resources and support they need."
Liberal Member for Rowville, Kim Wells, said this commitment will mean local residents can rest-assured there's an equipped and ready emergency response just down the road.
"Scoresby CFA deserves facilities that are fit for purpose and only a Liberals and Nationals Government will see this fire station be delivered."
