Israel Folau's freedom of speech: Bernardi

Australian Conservatives Release

Israel Folau is sticking to his guns no matter what it costs the embattled Wallabies superstar and Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi says the rugby player has done nothing more than state his beliefs which also happen to be the core teachings of all mainstream religions.

On Wednesday night Folau posted to his Instagram account that: "hell awaits drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists and idolators" - adding they should "repent".

As a result his future in rugby seems to be over, with Rugby Australia confirming as much after talks later in the week.

Senator Bernardi told Melbourne radio station 3AW's Nick McCallum, he sees this as a direct result of the intervention of the boss of major rugby sponsor Qantas.
