Jetski rider charged after Water Police locate drugs and weapons

Water Police officers have charged a man after drugs and two knives were located on a jet ski in St Kilda marina on Friday, 17 January.

Patrolling police sighted a male travelling on a jet ski with a dog, speeding into the marina about 3.30pm.

Officers signalled for the man to pull up at the dock.

The man allegedly became aggressive towards police and was subsequently arrested.

A search of the jet ski resulted in police seizing two knives, a quantity of cannabis as well as a quantity of a clear, white crystal substance.

The 23-year-old Clayton man was charged with:

• Possess methylamphetamine

• Possess LSD

• Possess cannabis

• 2 counts of possess a controlled weapon without excuse

• Exceed speed limit specified for the area of water.

He has been bailed to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 1 May.
