Education Minister Sabine Winton has officially opened state-of-the-art new buildings to increase student capacity at Kalamunda Senior High School and Kalamunda Secondary Education Support Centre.
The $38 million works include a new multistorey block with eight general classrooms to accommodate Kalamunda Senior High School students, along with new purpose-built facilities for Kalamunda Secondary Education Support Centre, comprising six classrooms and ancillary areas.
Also included in the project is a visual arts building, with four studios that provide dedicated spaces for the arts and multimedia, as well as a gallery area to celebrate the work of the school's emerging artists.
The additions accommodate growth in student enrolment at Kalamunda Senior High School, increasing permanent capacity by another 200 students.
The buildings were designed by TAG Architects.
The visual arts block was completed in November 2024 and has been used by staff and students since the start of the 2025 school year. The other buildings were completed by Broad Construction in July 2025.
It forms part of the Cook Government's commitment to delivering high-quality education infrastructure for Western Australian students, families, and educators.
As stated by Education Minister Sabine Winton:
