Mountain bike enthusiasts can get their wheels turning on 10 new trails following the completion of the new Kanbyugal Mountain Bike Trail Network at Kanbyugal Reserve.
Located in Woodbine, the new trail network gives riders of all ages and skill levels a new place to get outdoors and challenge themselves.
This milestone marks the completion of the Stage 1 works, giving the community the chance to test and experience the trails before construction on Stage 2 begins next year.
"We're really pleased to be able to open the first stage of the Kanbyugal Mountain Bike Trail Network ahead of schedule and give residents the chance to get onto the trails sooner than expected," said Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Darcy Lound.
"I encourage riders to get out there, test the trails and make the most of Stage 1 before construction gets underway on the next stage of the project," said Cr Lound.
"The new trail network gives locals another reason to get outdoors, be active and enjoy everything our community has to offer, and I'm looking forward to seeing riders of all ages making the most of this fantastic new facility," said Member for Campbelltown, Mr Greg Warren MP.
"The completion of Stage 1 of this project is a fantastic milestone for our community. Thanks to this NSW Government and Campbelltown City Council working together, riders of all ages and abilities now have access to a high-quality outdoor recreation space, with even more exciting improvements to come as the project continues," said Mr Warren.
Stage 2 works will continue the development of the mountain bike park, adding over 18 more trails and riding experiences to the network, dedicated car parking, improved connection between tracks as well as supporting facilities.
Once complete, the Kanbyugal Mountain Bike Trail Network will deliver a total of over 13km of track for the community to enjoy.
Construction for Stage 2 is expected to commence in 2027.
The Kanbyugal Parklands Mountain Bike Track project (Stage 1) is proudly funded by the NSW Government through the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program.
