Kempsey Shire Council Limits Water Fill Station Access

Kempsey Shire Council

Residents and businesses who use Kempsey Shire Council's water fill stations at South Kempsey, Gladstone, South West Rocks, Crescent Head, Greenhill and Stuarts Point stations are advised that due to the ongoing need to conserve water under Level 1 Water Restrictions, the Shire's Water Fill Stations are now only available to registered potable water carters.

Water Filling Station Changes

As of 6 November 2023, Council will be introducing access cards for water carters to use at the water fill stations.

These cards have been issued to registered water carters who have had their trucks approved by NSW Health for transporting potable water.

Council will be switching off all other alternative payment methods at the water fill stations to the public on Monday 13 November 2023 as this change comes into effect.

When did the change occur?

When Level 1 Water Restrictions came into effect on 16 October limiting the usage of water throughout the community, part of these restrictions was limiting the use of water fill stations to registered potable water carters only.

Council has offered a grace period since introduction of Level 1 restrictions, allowing the water fill stations to remain open to support the community during this transition.

From Monday 13 November 2023, all water fill stations will only be able to be accessed by registered potable water carters with these new cards.

Thank you for helping us to conserve water.
