Kempsey Shire welcomes seventeen new Australia citizens

Seventeen candidates became the newest citizens of Australia and Kempsey Shire on Thursday.

The Citizenship Ceremony at the Slim Dusty Centre on Thursday 11 May saw over 60 loved ones join in the celebration to welcome the shire's newest citizens.

In becoming Australians, the candidates took their pledges and oath to embrace the values that make Australia a strong and great nation.

Leo Hauville, Mayor of Kempsey Shire Council, presided over the ceremony and warmly welcomed the new citizens who come from 10 different countries.

Becoming Australians means that these candidates have pledged to embrace the values that make our country such a strong and great nation.

As new Australian citizens, they have committed to upholding the values and responsibilities of citizenship and are now part of the wider Australian community.

Kempsey Shire Council congratulates them on receiving their Australian citizenship.
