"I'm delighted to see that KI is acknowledged once again as an attractive employer," says KI president, Annika Östman Wernerson. "It testifies to the sense of commitment and cooperation that defines our work and study environment. Placing on the list confirms that we've managed to create an environment together that caters for the wellbeing and development of all our staff and students."

The survey was conducted jointly by the recruitment agency Academic Work and marketing consultant Kantar. This year, circa 4,000 students and young academics at the start of their careers took part and responded to the question of which place of work they would prefer to be employed at. The results are based on the respondents' own words, free-text answers, and not on predetermined response options.

This year, Karolinska Institutet ranks at no. 8 on this important top table, having been at 42 last year.

"I'm really very proud of our staff at KI," says Johanna Bäckström , head of the HR Office at Professional Services. "Teachers and researchers from all over the world and our administrative staff all work here to help improve the health of humankind. Our place amongst the country's 100 most attractive employers is fantastic."

When KI made it onto the list four years ago, no other universities qualified. Last year, a couple of other universities joined the list, but this year KI is once again the only university on the top list.

The survey invited respondents to judge what qualities of an employer are the most important to them.

According to the results, the four most important attributes for the target group are that the employer offers good colleagues and a good working environment, good pay and benefits, meaningful and interesting work assignments, and career and development opportunities.

The survey has been conducted annually for the past 11 years and is designed to help employers understand and attract new generations of employee.
