The English Social Mobility Index for 2022 has listed King's College London as the fifth best university in the country for social mobility - rising four places from last year.
Published by the Higher Education Policy Institute (HEPI), the UK's only independent think tank devoted to higher education, the Index ranks universities' contributions to social mobility by identifying how much students from disadvantaged backgrounds progress after graduating.
This year's Index examines data on graduate outcomes for students more closely, following a change in methodology from last year. Instead of looking at graduate outcomes for all students, it now combines the number of students from disadvantaged backgrounds that each university has supported with how those students progress after university.
