Kings Park Incidents Charges

Perth Police have charged a 38-year-old man in relation to a series of incidents at Kings Park this morning, Saturday 27 august 2022.
About 10:25am a man phoned WA Police Force to report being assaulted by another man in Kings Park. In the following minutes several other calls were received in relation to the same man's behaviour, including further allegations of assault and a stealing incident.
Perth Police attended the scene and arrested a 38-year-old man. While at the scene further reports were made to the officers, with six victims aged from 12-59 years old being identified.
It will be alleged the man first approached three children – a 12-year-old girl and boys aged 14 and 16 years old - and physically assaulted all three of them. It will be further alleged the man stole a phone from the 14-year-old boy. None of the children were seriously injured.
Two men – aged 21 and 59 – approached the man and it will be alleged he physically assaulted both of them, before assaulting a 20-year-old woman who was present.
The three children are not linked to any of the adult victims. The two adult male victims know each other, however the adult female victim was at the park separately.
The 38-year-old Maddington man has been charged with:
- 3 x Aggravated Common Assault (the three children)
- 3 x Common Assault (the three adults).
- 1 x Stealing
He will appear in Perth Magistrates Court at a later date.
