King's College London has ranked third in the UK for undergraduate Psychology for the second consecutive year in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2024.
This year's THE World University Rankings for psychology profiles 621 universities around the world. The annual rankings consider the learning environment, research environment, research quality, international outlook and industry income.
For Psychology, King's ranked first in the UK and second in the world for industry links, and first in the UK and third in the world for international reach. Overall, King's ranked 15th in the world for Psychology.
This year's rankings are a fantastic testament to the hard work both our academic and professional services staff, and their commitment to providing the best student experience and teaching at the IoPPN. Research-led education has been at the heart of what we do since our foundation, so we are particularly proud to see our still relatively new undergraduate Psychology programmes recognised in this way. I am equally pleased to see our international community being celebrated as defining aspect that makes studying at the IoPPN special.

The rankings complement the 2023 National Student Survey (NSS) results which were published earlier this year by the Office for Students. The NSS revealed that undergraduate courses at the IoPPN are in the top 10 in the Russell Group for 'Assessment and Feedback', 'Freedom of Expression', 'Learning Opportunities', 'Student Union', 'Student Voice', and 'Teaching'.
Psychology at King's is studied at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), Europe's largest centre for research and education in psychiatry, psychology and neuroscience. The IoPPN is home to over 3500 students across two undergraduate and 27 postgraduate taught programmes. The two undergraduate programme each offer the option to take a year abroad of professional placement year:
IoPPN students are taught by world leading researchers and clinicians. They benefit from world-class research and study facilities, access to diverse clinical populations and vast datasets, and clinical placements through King's partnership with the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, which offers the widest range of mental health services in the UK.
