A man was found with a knife following a wand search at the Adelaide Railway Station this morning.
Around 10am on Friday 19 December, Public Transport Safety Section officers patrolling the Adelaide Railway Station stopped and metal detector wand searched a man under the Declared Public Transport Hub powers.
It will be alleged he had a filleting knife in his possession.
The 57-year-old Exeter man was reported for carry offensive weapon and will be summonsed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date. He will also be issued with a transit barring order.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested at the Adelaide Railway Station this morning for breaching a transit barring order.


As of yesterday, Thursday 18 December, the Adelaide Railway Station is now a Declared Public Transport Hub to provide police with additional powers to maintain public safety and conduct weapons detection searches.
Police are also able to order a person or group posing a risk to public safety and order to leave the Adelaide Railway Station for 24 hours.
The purpose of Declared Public Precincts is to prevent serious incidents, especially knife crime, by proactively searching for dangerous weapons in crowded places.
