La Trobe, Fu Jen Advance Global Partnership

Australia's La Trobe University (LTU) and Taiwan's Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU) will strengthen opportunities for students to access international study, joint qualifications and collaborative research through an expanded partnership formalised via a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The MoU expands structured global learning pathways by integrating international study opportunities within degree programs, enabling students to undertake part of their studies across Australia and Taiwan while gaining internationally recognised qualifications.

The partnership will deepen collaboration across student mobility, joint degree development and research in sustainability, social equity, community wellbeing, and environmental resilience, with a focus on La Trobe Business School (LBS) and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HUSS).

Key initiatives include the development of a 1+1 dual master's program between La Trobe Business School and FJCU's MBA in International Management, expanded student exchange opportunities, and joint research collaboration across shared academic priorities.

The agreement builds on sustained engagement between senior academic leaders at both universities and aligns with La Trobe University's 2025-2030 Strategic Plan, particularly its priorities relating to global engagement, curriculum innovation, research impact, and international mobility.

Founded in 1925, Fu Jen Catholic University is one of Taiwan's largest private universities, comprising 13 colleges and more than 112 academic programs. It is recognised for strengths across humanities, social sciences, business, and health disciplines and is supported by applied research through its affiliated Fu Jen Catholic University Hospital.

Following the signing of the MOU, both universities will progress academic and governance processes to formalise articulation pathways, mobility frameworks, and joint research collaboration.

La Trobe University Vice-Chancellor Professor Theo Farrell said:

"Our partnership with Fu Jen Catholic University reflects La Trobe's commitment to global engagement and delivering real impact through education and research. By working together, we are expanding opportunities for students while advancing collaboration in areas that matter to our communities."

Fu Jen Catholic University President Professor Francis Yi-Chen Lan said:
