- Centuria Capital Group confirmed to deliver first stage of retail at Alkimos Central
- Contemporary supermarket, childcare and medical services to open by 2027
- Marks a key milestone in establishing DevelopmentWA's vision for Alkimos Central as a vibrant, mixed-use town centre
A land deal between the Cook Labor Government and Australasian real estate group Centuria Capital has been reached, marking a key milestone in the development of a new town centre at Alkimos.
Centuria will develop the 2.4-hectare site, which will be the first stage of a $33 million retail and services precinct featuring a contemporary full-line supermarket, a childcare centre, medical and allied health services, and speciality, convenience and hospitality stores.
Located just 100 metres from Alkimos Station and 150 metres from the future Alkimos Aquatic and Recreation Centre, Centuria's development is expected to open in 2027.
It will provide everyday convenience, local jobs and new community amenities for the fast-growing Alkimos and Eglinton region.
Integrated with a public central park and main street, the Centuria development will also include the first stage of a pedestrian laneway link from the station through future retail stages, and a variety of landscaped spaces - setting the tone for a welcoming and walkable residential mixed-use town centre.
This development builds on the momentum already underway across Alkimos Central and supports the State Government's METRONET vision for a connected, transit-oriented community that brings together housing, transport and essential services.
In the past five years, Centuria has developed and delivered more than $1 billion of new retail, healthcare, industrial, and office assets, as well as social infrastructure, throughout Australia and New Zealand.
In Western Australia, it has developed and delivered significant assets, including Services Australia's new office development in Bunbury, an oncology centre in St John of God Murdoch Hospital, large format retail developments, key healthcare infrastructure projects and industrial facilities.

As stated by Treasurer and Transport Minister Rita Saffioti:
"METRONET is the single largest investment in public transport that Perth has ever seen, and this investment will help our government deliver a better-connected city with more transport, housing and employment choices.
"No matter where we live - in our suburbs, our towns, or our remote communities - I want all Western Australians to have access to local job opportunities, as well as essential infrastructure and services."
As stated by Planning and Lands Minister John Carey:
"Centuria's investment is establishing Alkimos Central as a lively, mixed-use town centre close to transport, green spaces, shops and essential services.
"This project brings us another step closer to delivering our government's METRONET Precinct vision to create communities that are better connected and great places to live.
"Our government is doing everything it can to accelerate housing supply, especially near train stations and along public transport corridors."
As stated by Butler MLA Lorna Clarke:
"As a mum, I am pleased to see the Cook Labor Government supporting more housing options for families in Yanchep.
"When I am doorknocking, many people raise with me their worry that their son or daughter, or grandchild, won't be able to afford a home. We are doing all we can to boost housing supply and make housing affordable for local families.
"This will provide families with more housing options close to the recently opened Yanchep Station, just a 50-minute or so commute from the CBD."
