Launceston Man Charged With High-Range Drink Driving Post Crash

Police have charged a man for driving under the influence of alcohol following a minor crash at Launceston today.

Around 12.15pm police attended a minor (no injury) two car crash on Frederick Street.

A 54-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene and underwent a subsequent breath analysis, returning a reading of 0.349 – nearly 7 times the limit.

The man has been charged with driving under the influence and received an instant licence disqualification for 12 months. He will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date.

Police thank witnesses at the scene for their assistance.
